Founder and artist Jaclyn Souza grew up outside. From an early age in a tiny California town, she adventured around her neighborhood, foraging and collecting to create with her hands.
Jaclyn now lives and works in the Bay Area, but calls the cool, crisp air of the High Sierra home. Those mountains are the inspiration behind Uzumati — a Native American word for ‘great bear,’ which is believed to have been the root of the name Yosemite — and a driving influence for Jaclyn, who thinks deeply about the way people interact with nature and their environment when she’s behind the wheel. She takes pride in creating pieces that you’ll bring into your home and use every day.
